Booking Field Training Officer Program  
  • Organizational Orientation - Law Enforcement Specialists in the Booking area are often segregated from the Sheriff's Office and this phase of orientation gives them the opportunity to learn about the different functions of the Sheriff's Office before focusing on the functions of the Detention Facility.
  • Integration - This is the first week of training and is reserved for orientation. Law Enforcement Specialists are given the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the detention facility and its primary functions.
  • Phase A - This is a 6 week training period that is broken down into two parts. Part 1 focuses on computer related functions and how the interact with daily activities. Part 2 covers the process of booking an inmate into the detention facility.
  • Phase B - Another 6 weeks is broken down into 2 parts; Part 3 and Part 4. Part 3 covers the procedures for releasing an inmate from the detention facility and part 4 covers all paperwork associated with daily activities.
