The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office Major Offenders Task Force (MOTF) was developed in 2020 with grant funding assistance through the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS); with further support of the United States Marshal of the District of Colorado, as well as the local USMS Office in Grand Junction, Co.
The purpose of the Major Offenders Task Force is to identify and apprehend high-profile repeat offenders in Mesa County, as well as the tracking of all registered sex offenders in Mesa County. The task force works in close partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest fugitives across the Western Slope of Colorado.
