Crime prevention is about citizens being pro-active in keeping themselves, their family, homes, neighborhoods and community safe from crime. Starting or participating in a neighborhood watch program is an excellent way to decrease crime in your neighborhood. Also, not giving out your personal or bank information over the phone, email or to anyone you don't know can reduce your chances of being a victim of fraud or identity theft.
The Sheriff's Office Community Outreach Unit currently hosts monthly community training events. Typically those classes are on the 4th Tuesday of each month. The topic varies and the classes are always free. Crimestoppers of Mesa County co-hosts the classes.
