Prescription Drug Take Back, Permanent Box  

The prescription drug take back box is no longer available in our lobby. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, Mesa County residents can properly dispose of their unwanted, unused and expired prescription medications at the facility listed below.


Mesa County Hazardous Waste Collection Facility will take prescription drugs and many more items, such as: needles/sharps, pressurized/aerosol and mercury containing items, free of charge from Mesa County residents, Thursdays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. However, they are NOT able to accept controlled substances (narcotics), chemotherapy or radio-active substances or oxygen tanks.
